Flood protection Lohningstein ditch Zell am See
The torrent control at the Lohningsteingraben in Zell am See was created together with the torrent and avalanche control – WLV Salzburg in the course of Christoph Mösl’s diploma thesis.
The task was to measure the bedload potential and to design a suitable filter structure. The filter structure has a length of 50m, a height of 10m and a wall thickness of 1.0m. The structure is capable of separating about 1000m³ of bedload from the water. Due to the construction of this structure, the Red Zone (no-build zone) along the Lohningstein Ditch could be reduced to a minimum.
