new FLYING MOZART – Snow Space Salzburg
With the start of the winter season 2021/22, the 33-year-old Flying Mozart gondola lift was replaced by its new, state-of-the-art Flying Mozart, a 10-seater gondola lift. Matthias Mösl, m3-ZT GmbH, was responsible for the structural design of the bottom and top stations in this project.
The new construction of the Flying Mozart gondola lift represented one of the three central pillars for the generation project “Skiing over 12 peaks and 5 valleys” and puts the village of Wagrain at the center of the new large ski area. With the new Panorama Link cable car between Wagrain and Kleinarl/Flachauwinkl, the first milestone project was successfully put into operation at the beginning of this winter season.
The new Flying Mozart lift overcomes the 970 meters in altitude to the Grießenkar in less than 11 minutes, transporting up to 4,000 guests per hour uphill (previously 2,500 people). The Doppelmayr gondola lift is thus one of the most powerful single-cable ropeways in the world. Longer waiting times at the bottom or middle station are now finally a thing of the past. The 142 significantly larger Omega-V gondola cabins feature ergonomic individual seats with heated seats and a modern, bright design with lots of glass and maximum legroom. As an absolute novelty, the high-tech cabins will be equipped with integrated lighting and free WLAN, and additional features will make the gondola ride an experience for the guest. In addition, the gondola cabins offer enough space for baby carriages, mountain bikes and other sports equipment.
