Residential house Salzburg

MULTIGENERATIONAL HOUSE MOOSSTRASSE

SUSTAINABLE OVER GENERATIONS

The house is located directly on the Moosstraße in Salzburg and is only a short distance from the Salzburg city center in the direction of the Untersberg. The old single-family house was removed and replaced by a new building, and the existing basement was taken into account and reused in the new structure – thus there were also economic advantages in this construction project.

The new multigenerational house with two residential units should meet the requirements of both young and older generations. One of the two apartments was therefore equipped with barrier-free access.

The first floor of the second apartment was built on the existing basement. The upper floor extends on the street side above the first floor plan. A play between gable and flat roofs was chosen as the roof shape, this gives the building a very light, slender appearance and provides sufficient space for the photovoltaic system. On the facade, a back-ventilated, rough-sawn and natural larch formwork was installed.

Large, differently dimensioned glass surfaces in windows and patio doors provide plenty of natural light, supported on the upper floor by several skylights. Natural solid wood ceilings in visible quality combined with wooden doors and stairs and wooden aluminum windows, draw the natural design from the outside to the inside.

Ecology, sustainability and healthy living:

  • Multi-generation house, two residential units, one apartment barrier-free
  • Timber frame construction, purlin roof trusses, solid wood ceilings in sight
  • Wood species: spruce, larch, oak, exclusively domestic wood
  • cellulose insulation, no use of PU foam in the entire house
  • Facade with vertically running larch wood formwork rough sawn, natural weathering, no chemical wood preservation
  • Wooden aluminum windows
  • Air source heat pump and photovoltaic system
  • Energy index 32 kWh/m2a
